Auntie Alison

Alison Landeros is the owner and Founding Teacher of FTFS.

Alison spent her childhood chasing lizards and riding horses in the golden hills of Northern CA. In 2002 she moved north to attend The Evergreen State College. There she studied history, literature, and postcolonial culture both on campus and through study abroad in the ME. After graduation, she spent the next few years volunteering with Americorps and working before beginning her teacher training in 2008. She graduated from the Sound Circle Center Waldorf Teacher Training Program in June of 2011. She taught in both the Kindergarten and Preschool Classrooms at Bright Water Waldorf School in Seattle for almost five years until she stepped away to begin her own family in 2015.Alison founded Fairy Tails Farm School in 2019.

Alison loves teaching preschool and considers it a calling. She finds peace with green,  growing things and, and is currently enrolled in the Wild Plants Intensive through Wilderness Awareness School. She is committed to bringing children and the outdoors together, and to fostering their innate wonder at the natural world and all its magic!

Tia Emily

Emily Villatoro is our Language Specialist and Community Events Coordinator

Emily is new to the Pacific Northwest, originally coming from Texas. She has over five years of hands-on classroom experience, with an education in elementary studies, special education and is a certified behavioral technician. In the classroom, She enjoys seeing her students foster their inner creativity and connection with the world around them. She hopes to one day own a ranch so In her free time she loves being out connecting with nature, as well as reading, gardening, and sharing that love and magic of the outdoors with her students. Coming from a family that immigrated from El Salvador, she is looking forward to sharing the Spanish culture and language with our Chickadees class through Spanish immersion and circle

Ms. Sharon

Sharon Barker is an accomplished business owner, curriculum developer and holistic educator with extensive experience in community involvement through art. As the founder of Happy Scholars, Sharon has dedicated herself to creating private and community enrichment programs that make art engaging, educational, and accessible to everyone. Happy Scholars has had a significant impact on the community, providing opportunities for individuals of all ages to experience the transformative power of art education.

Sharon's expertise in curriculum development and execution stems from her many years of work with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District in California. At Quail Run Elementary and Creekside Elementary, she developed and taught art curricula to thousands of students each year, from kindergarten through fifth grade. Her innovative programs were designed to integrate co-curricular material, enhancing students' overall learning experiences.

In addition to her teaching roles, Sharon has become an expert in managing community venues, resource management, and program promotion/marketing. She excels in public communication, with extensive experience in working effectively with families, volunteers, staff, city officials, and other community members.

Currently residing at one of the largest wilderness college campuses in the Pacific Northwest, Sharon continues to immerse herself in a vibrant cultural environment. Her children are homeschooled and thriving in an Environmental Science Program, reflecting her commitment to holistic and interdisciplinary education.
